Job summary

Wichita State University’s NIAR Full-Scale Structural Test lab is seeking a Facilities Student Assistant to perform administrative and technical tasks under supervision. The role supports shop and office operations, including front desk, mailroom, and facility tasks, with involvement in test setup and maintenance as needed.

The position is 100% on-site at the NIAR ASTEC Coliseum facility in Park City, KS, with work schedule based on class commitments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• The work may involve lifting and safe climbing in and out of test fixtures.
• Mix of shop and office tasks, in conditioned and unconditioned spaces.

Responsibilities

• Assist NIAR Full Scale staff with assignments critical to customer projects.
• Provide front desk management, mailroom, shipping, and facility support.
• Assist with test setup, build, and facility maintenance.
• Support general business operations as qualified.
