Job summary

Fremont Economic Development Corp. is seeking a Painter Helper to join our construction team on residential, commercial, and industrial sites.

You will assist lead painters with surface preparation, apply coatings, and help ensure high‑quality finishes while maintaining safe work practices. This hands‑on role involves tool handling, scaffolding setup, mixing paints, and supporting restoration tasks such as plastering or carpentry as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience on construction sites with residential or commercial painting preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret basic drawings and project specs.
• Familiar with safety regulations including respiratory protection.
• Basic math for measuring surfaces and mixing paints.
• Interest in learning advanced painting techniques and industrial applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead painters with surface preparation such as sanding, scraping, caulking, priming.
• Apply paint using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment on diverse surfaces.
• Set up and break down scaffolding, ladders, and other access equipment safely.
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling holes, and priming.
• Mix paints to achieve desired finishes.
• Follow safety regulations and maintain a clean work environment.
• Interpret drawings and blueprints for accurate paint application.
• Assist with restoration tasks like plastering, carpentry and masonry as needed.
• Operate power tools safely and maintain them.
• Collaborate with team to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
