Job summary

Plant Design I/O seeks a Junior P&ID Walkdown Drafter to support field verification and documentation at a client facility on-site. You will assist with verifying piping, equipment, instrumentation, and related plant information against existing P&IDs.

The role emphasizes detail, safety, and accurate field documentation, with growth opportunities in industrial facilities and drafting standards while working under a Lead.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate recording of technical information.
• Willing to work on-site in an industrial facility and follow client safety rules.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS Office applications.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work under the direction of a Lead and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site P&ID walkdowns under the direction of a Lead.
• Compare existing P&IDs and field conditions.
• Identify and document discrepancies between drawings and installed equipment.
• Markup P&IDs to reflect observed field conditions.
• Record equipment tags, line numbers, instrument tags, and valve information.
• Take field notes and photographs to support drawing updates.
• Document findings for review by the Lead to resolve unclear information.
• Maintain organized field documentation.
• Follow client site requirements, safety procedures, and Plant Design I/O work practices.
• Communicate observations and discrepancies to the Lead.
• Assist with updating P&ID drawings based on verified field information.
• Perform other drafting and documentation tasks as assigned.
