Job summary

Colgate-Palmolive Company in Cambridge, OH is seeking an Operative Technician Level 1 to operate and maintain packaging equipment on a production line. This on-site role requires collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team and attention to safety, quality, and efficiency.

The position emphasizes equipment operation, data entry in SAP/OPERA, and adherence to cGMP and EOHS standards. Training will cover maintenance tasks, housekeeping, and continuous improvement in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (Vocational school or technical institute preferred).
• Ability to work 12‑hour shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.
• Minimum of 2 years work experience and/or 2‑year technical college degree.
• Ability to adhere to all safety standards and wear and utilize all PPE.
• Ability to perform regular housekeeping and maintain general cleanliness in work area.
• Ability to move bags of raw materials weighing up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operation, Cleaning, Lubrication, Inspection, Troubleshooting and Changeover of non-automated and automated packaging equipment.
• Access SAP for BOM and materials; enter quality data in OPERA.
• Assist maintenance and team in troubleshooting and minor repairs on production equipment.
• Coordinate with planning/logistics to ensure material availability for production runs.
• Support continuous improvement and visual workplace practices in the line area.
