Job summary

Cutting Edge Machining & Automation is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead the full order-to-ship workflow across two business segments—high-volume robotic automation for commercial OEMs and precision aerospace & defense machining to AS9100 and ITAR/DFARS requirements.

In this hands-on role, you will oversee production scheduling, quality, labor and machine utilization, purchasing, inventory accuracy, and customer satisfaction while driving lean initiatives and KPI reporting to

Qualifications

10+ years in operations within a precision CNC machining environment, with 5+ years in a management role.
Experience with high-volume automated production and high-mix, low-volume machining.
Knowledge of AS9100, ITAR and DFARS flowdown requirements.
Hands-on with CNC milling/turning, multi-axis machining, robotics, and gauging.
Proficient in ERP/MRP systems (Epicor preferred, JobBOSS 2 a plus).
Lean manufacturing experience (VSM, 5S, Kaizen, 8D).
Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Operations or related field, or equivalent.
U.S. Person status required (ITAR).

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end production scheduling across two workflows.
Oversee order entry, customer service, and delivery escalation.
Direct daily and weekly production operations, including cell leads and machinists.
Improve OEE, cycle time, scrap, labor efficiency, and capacity planning.
Manage MRP, purchasing, outside service coordination.
Maintain inventory accuracy and turns for materials and tooling.
Oversee shipping/receiving and compliance.
Contribute to the operations budget and staffing.
Provide KPI reporting and team development.
Uphold safety, shop organization and cleanliness.
