Job summary

Barton Malow is seeking an OFCI Project Engineer for a mission-critical project near Philadelphia, PA. This on-site, full-time role focuses on the owner furnished, contractor installed equipment program, managing the logistics chain from purchase through turnover to commissioning.

The position interfaces with owner vendors, the Barton Malow field team, and installing subcontractors to minimize delivery risk, ensure documentation accuracy, and complete warranties at closeout. 

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, supply chain, or related field.
• 2 to 5 years in a construction project engineering, logistics, or materials management role.
• Understanding full logistics chain: procurement tracking, delivery windows, laydown, staging, rigging, and installation handoff.
• Interface between owner vendors, Barton Malow field team, and installing subcontractors.
• Track and communicate delivery risk early; OFCI slippage impacts commissioning.
• Strong on receiving, damage documentation, and warranty transfer.
• Organized under volume; keep logs, delivery schedules, and claim records current.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the owner furnished, contractor installed equipment log from PO through installation and turnover.
• Tracks procurement status with owner vendors including submittal and approval dates, fabrication progress, and ship/delivery dates.
• Plans and manages delivery windows with the Superintendent; coordinate site access, offloading, crane and rigging, and traffic control.
• Manages laydown and staging areas, sequencing, protection, environmental requirements, and space planning.
• Coordinates rigging and setting plans with field team and subcontractors; verify routes, openings, and pad readiness.
• Manages installation handoff; confirm scope boundaries between owner vendor and installing subcontractor.
• Interfaces daily between owner vendors, the Barton Malow field team, and installing trade partners.
• Identifies and communicates delivery risk early and escalates to Project Manager.
• Manages receiving; inspection, BOL, packing list verification, quantity reconciliation, acceptance docs.
• Documents shipping and handling damage with photos and records; initiates claims and tracks resolution.
• Assembles warranty docs, O&M manuals, spare parts, and training records at closeout.
• Supports commissioning by ensuring equipment is on site, set, and released to installing subcontractor on time.
