Job summary

EnergySolutions in Harrisburg, PA seeks a Waste Processing Specialist for the TMI-2 site. You will oversee regulated waste processing, characterization, documentation, and SNM support in a dynamic industrial plant under safety and radiological controls.

Full-time on-site role requiring independent work, strong communication, and coordination with LLRW and D&D to plan treatment, storage, disposal, and packaging to meet DOT and WAC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience or 8 years of related work experience.
• Nuclear experience preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Integrate waste requirements into work plans and packages per procedures.
• Provide hands-on oversight for radioactive liquids, solids, and chemical waste streams.
• Coordinate between LLRW and D&D to implement treatment storage, disposal and waste packaging plans.
• Ensure waste segregation, labeling, and packaging meet approved profiles, DOT regulations and WAC.
• Assist in waste volume tracking, material characterization and container tracking.
• Perform operator-level inspections and minor maintenance on processing equipment.
