Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a Network Engineer to support a mission-critical defense program focused on command and control, battle management, communications, and ballistic missile defense operations. This on-site role is in Colorado Springs, CO, and will help ensure secure, reliable enterprise network infrastructure.

The engineer will configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routers, switches, and firewalls across multi-vendor environments, implement VLANs, OSPF, BGP, and TCP/IP architectures,

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure, network operations, and troubleshooting in production environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco and Juniper routing and switching technologies.
• Experience with firewalls including Juniper, Fortinet, and Palo Alto platforms.
• IAT Level II Certifications, CCNA or JNCIA.
• Active Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure including routers, switches, and firewalls in multi-vendor environments.
• Monitor network performance, identify connectivity, latency, and packet loss issues, and perform root cause analysis to resolve incidents.
• Implement and support networking technologies including VLANs, OSPF, BGP, GRE tunnels, UDP multicast, WAN optimization, and TCP/IP network architectures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support network upgrades, installations, infrastructure enhancements, and operational projects.
• Travel to remote sites to perform network installations, lead troubleshooting efforts, and provide status updates to program stakeholders, including support during evenings and weekends when required.
