Job summary

The Municipal Finance Manager will serve as the on-site lead for financial operations within a city government administration in Gwinnett County, GA. Qualifications

• Municipal finance management experience is required.
• Hands-on GASB and fund accounting experience.
• Experience processing payroll for public sector employees.
• Ability to independently lead annual audit preparation for a local government entity.
• Must be able to work full-time on-site as an embedded municipal administrator.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage day-to-day municipal financial operations as an embedded member of the city's staff.
• Maintain fund accounting per GASB guidelines and oversee general ledger, month-end, and year-end close.
• Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with municipal, state, and statutory requirements.
• Direct payroll operations for public employees and ensure accurate withholdings and benefits.
• Lead preparation for the city’s annual financial audit and coordinate with external auditors.
