Job summary

Teaching Matters is seeking experienced Educational Consultants to coach teachers and leaders in NYC public schools. The role focuses on culturally responsive pedagogy, data-driven instruction, and collaborative coaching across the five boroughs.

The Educational Consultant will develop tailored coaching plans, facilitate professional learning sessions, and support school teams to improve student outcomes with strong emphasis on equity and inclusion.

Qualifications

Minimum 3–4 years as Literacy Coach/Consultant plus 4 years teaching Middle School ELA.
Experience with culturally responsive curriculum and pedagogy.
Proven ability to achieve ambitious, measurable student results.

Responsibilities

Coach teachers and administrators onsite across NYC in culturally responsive lessons and resources.
Develop customized instructional coaching plans based on needs assessments.
Lead coaching cycles focused on developing key teaching competencies.
Differentiate support based on individual needs and promote mindset shifts.
Facilitate teacher teams to analyze data and improve student outcomes.
Guide school leaders in changing systems and collaboration structures.
