On-Site Safety Manager

PK Safety | Axis, Alabama
Full-Time | On-Site ~ 50 hours per week

PK Safety is seeking an experienced On-Site Manager to lead our team of Paramedics and EMTs providing emergency medical services at a large manufacturing facility in Axis, Alabama. This position is critical to maintaining a safe, professional, and highly responsive operation that runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

We are looking for a strong leader who can effectively manage people, hold employees accountable, make sound decisions independently, and maintain positive working relationships with both employees and the client.

Because the manager's direct supervisor is located out of state, this position requires someone who is self-directed, organized, and confident operating with a high degree of autonomy while staying connected with company leadership.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and oversee daily operations for a 24/7 industrial EMS site.

  • Manage a team of Paramedics and EMTs working rotating 12-hour shifts.

  • Ensure proper scheduling, staffing coverage, and timekeeping.

  • Address employee performance concerns and provide coaching, guidance, and accountability.

  • Serve as the primary liaison between PK Safety, site personnel, and team members.

  • Maintain compliance with company policies, client expectations, and safety requirements.

  • Oversee inventory, maintenance, and readiness of medical equipment, supplies, PPE, and vehicles.

  • Ensure training records, service records, billing documentation, and other operational records are accurate and up to date.

  • Support emergency response operations and assist with shift coverage when necessary.

  • Foster a culture of professionalism, teamwork, and customer service.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is:

  • A proven people leader who can be fair, firm, and consistent.

  • Comfortable having difficult conversations and holding employees accountable.

  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities.

  • Able to work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision.

  • Professional when interacting with clients, employees, and company leadership.

  • Dependable, proactive, and willing to take ownership of site operations.

  • Experienced in emergency medical services, industrial safety, or a related field.

  • Skilled at building strong teams while maintaining high-performance standards.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.

  • Ability to work independently with limited day-to-day supervision.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules, documentation, billing, inventory, and operational priorities.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business-related software systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or higher.

  • Two or more years of experience as a Paramedic.

  • Prior supervisory, operations management, or team leadership experience.

  • Experience managing personnel in a 24/7 operation.

  • Experience in industrial, manufacturing, refinery, petrochemical, or plant environments.

  • Rope Rescue I & II certification or willingness to become proficient.

What Makes Someone Successful in This Role
