This on-site, full-time, non-exempt role focuses on accurate behavioral health claims submission to private insurers, Medicaid, and Medicare, plus denials management and patient communication.

The Medical Biller will verify benefits, post remittances, and help collect outstanding payments while ensuring HIPAA compliance. Strong accuracy and teamwork are essential in this busy clinic.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of medical billing and insurance collections experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• On-site position; able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and electronically submit accurate behavioral health claims to private insurers, Medicaid, and Medicare.
• Investigate rejected or denied claims, fix billing errors, and submit timely appeals or corrected claims.
• Verify patient insurance benefits and check network status.
• Post and reconcile ERAs, EOBs, and patient payments.
• Contact patients and insurers to collect outstanding payments, review billing information, and negotiate payment plans while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Stay updated with current coding and billing regulations and compliance requirements.
• Maintain a library of information/tools related to documentation guidelines and coding.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Financial Controller.
