Job summary

Virtua Health in Wilmington, DE is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians by taking vital signs, documenting history, and preparing patients for exams. You will perform phlebotomy, assist with vaccines, and help with testing under physician supervision.

This full-time, on-site role requires HS diploma, MA program completion, current MA certification, and BLS. Candidates with 1–3 years in a medical office are preferred; we offer a comprehensive benefits package and a competitive hourly

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of similar job experience in a medical office preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current certification/registration as a Medical Assistant.
• BLS Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for exam by obtaining and documenting vital signs and chief complaint; prepares exam room.
• Performs phlebotomy and obtains specimens for processing; administers vaccines and completes required documentation; conducts diagnostic tests under physician supervision.
• Screens and directs patient calls; contacts patients regarding prescriptions and testing results as directed by the physician.
• Performs daily regulatory testing to ensure equipment accuracy and compliance.
• Maintains par level of clinical supplies for facility.
• Performs front desk duties such as registering patients, billing, and appointment scheduling.
