Job summary

University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) seeks adjunct faculty to teach on-site at Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota, in the Mathematics & Statistics program. Courses include Mathematical Literacy, College Algebra, and Introduction to Statistics, taught to adult learners in a high-demand setting.

Required: a Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, with professional experience; online teaching experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Professional experience in Mathematics, Statistics, or related field; experience teaching adult learners online is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Actively engage students through frequent interaction and motivate them to succeed.
• Guide students in active collaboration and application of learning in problem- and project-based learning.
• Provide regular constructive feedback using rubrics for assessment of student work.
• Demonstrate subject-matter expertise and help students connect concepts across the program.
• Provide feedback to the program chair on curricular improvements.
