Job summary

AKG North America in Mebane, NC is seeking a Material Planner to ensure timely availability of materials supporting production schedules and inventory objectives. You will analyze demand fluctuations, manage ERP data, and collaborate with production, procurement, logistics, and customer service to optimize material flow.

The ideal candidate has experience in material planning or purchasing, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to safety and teamwork within a value-driven manufacturing

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in material planning, supply chain, purchasing, or inventory management.
• Experience with SAP or other ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage material planning activities to ensure adequate inventory levels and uninterrupted production.
• Monitor ERP (SAP) data, including exception messages, purchase requisitions, inventory levels, and delivery statuses.
• Coordinate with production, procurement, logistics, and customer service teams to support material availability and production requirements.
• Participate in daily production meetings and communicate material constraints or risks.
• Analyze demand fluctuations, order changes, inventory trends, and supply issues to develop appropriate planning actions.
• Track and expedite critical material deliveries when necessary.
• Maintain accurate planning parameters and master data within SAP.
• Prepare material status updates and communicate potential supply risks to management.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory management, planning accuracy, and supply chain efficiency.
