Job summary

77 Consultants is seeking a Locum Anesthesiologist for an on-site contract position in Illinois. You will provide perioperative anesthesia services, evaluate patients pre-procedure, and ensure safety and comfort throughout surgical care. The role requires MD, completed residency, and active IL license.

You will work with surgeons, nurses, and staff to deliver coordinated care in a fast-paced environment. Board certification or eligibility, and DEA/BLS/ACLS are required.

Qualifications

• MD degree from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an accredited Anesthesiology residency program.
• Board certification or eligibility in Anesthesiology.
• Active Illinois medical license; DEA registration; BLS/ACLS.
• Proven perioperative anesthesia experience; strong airway, pharmacology, and patient monitoring knowledge.
• Excellent communication and teamwork; ability to work independently in a locum setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-anesthesia evaluations and review medical histories.
• Develop and implement anesthesia plans for surgical cases.
• Administer general, regional, and local anesthesia as required.
• Monitor vital signs and respond to procedural changes.
• Manage airway, pain control, and post‑operative recovery.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and teams to ensure safe care.
• Document anesthesia records and outcomes accurately.
• Ensure compliance with protocols and safety standards.
• Participate in quality improvement and case reviews.
• Educate patients and families about anesthesia procedures and risks.
