Job summary

Intertek seeks a Project Engineer in Arlington Heights, IL to perform testing and evaluation of Life Safety and Security products, determining compliance with US and international standards. You will write reports, create test plans, witness testing, and interact with clients with up to 25% travel.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and 2+ years of experience, strong communication, and proficiency with MS Office. On-site work and a competitive package are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
• 2+ years relatable experience.
• Must be able to work on-site, full-time.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
• Excellent communication skills, in verbal and written formats.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Read and determine applicability of national codes and standard clauses for the EUT (equipment under test).
• Read and understand schematics and manufacturing instructions.
• Validate the project scope and sample applicability.
• Set up and operate standard test equipment and build/calibrate test fixtures.
• Perform testing of products in accordance with standards.
• Mentor less senior technical personnel.
• Provide sales support such as attending client visits.
• Communicate project status and test results to client and management.
