Job summary

Core Services Hood Cleaning & Fire Prevention in San Diego, CA is hiring a Kitchen Exhaust Hood Fan Maintenance & Repair Technician to install, maintain, and repair exhaust fans at customer sites.

The role starts part-time (20-29 hours/week) with a clear path to full-time as the service line grows, offering daytime shifts, hands-on electrical/ mechanical work, and on-site upsell opportunities. You will work safely at heights and represent the company professionally.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and repairing restaurant exhaust fans.
• Electrical work involved; license or certification strongly preferred.
• Comfortable working at heights, on ladders and rooftops.
• Reliable, detail-oriented with accurate problem diagnosis on first try.
• Strong communication; explain issues and fixes clearly to customers.
• Available for daytime shifts, weekdays; possible growth to full-time.

Responsibilities

• Install new kitchen exhaust fans and related components on site.
• Diagnose and repair fan motors, belts, bearings, wiring, and related issues.
• Perform routine maintenance to keep fans running safely and efficiently.
• Identify additional repairs or upsells and flag for on-site upsell opportunities.
• Work safely at heights and keep accurate notes on work performed and parts used.
