Qualifications

• Must possess a current, full, and unrestricted New York State medical license.
• Board certification by the American Board of Radiology.
• Must successfully complete Syracuse VA Medical Center credentialing and privileging.
• Maintain BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Maintain CME, an active NPI, and DEA registration.
• Demonstrate English-language fluency and professional competence.
• Satisfy VA occupational-health, training, privacy, information-security, background, and suitability requirements.
• Provide required on-site schedule and on-call coverage.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site and on-call interventional radiology physician services meeting American College of Radiology standards.
• Perform angiography, angioplasty, stenting, embolization, biopsies, central-line placement, drainage, and dialysis-access interventions.
• Perform IVC filter placement, lumbar puncture, myelography, paracentesis, gastrostomy, thoracentesis, vertebroplasty, and related procedures.
• Conduct patient consultations, clinical evaluations, informed-consent discussions, and pre-procedure assessments.
• Provide post-procedure care, follow-up, and complication management.
• Complete accurate medical-record documentation, procedure notes, and orders.
• Educate patients and families about procedures, risks, and aftercare.
• Provide weekday, weekend, and holiday call coverage as required.
• Attend meetings, training, and conferences; coordinate with VA staff.
