Job summary

PPG is seeking an Intermediates Quality Engineer to lead quality tasks for Intermediate production. You will be the main contact for intermediate approvals, out-of-spec batches, and overall quality improvements on 1st shift on-site in Cleveland, OH, reporting to the Analytical and RM Lab Manager.

You will drive root cause investigations, oversee high priority batches, and collaborate with QC and Raw Material quality teams to implement lasting improvements, with a salary range of $75,000 to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or science related field required.
• 3–5 years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training or certification preferred.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, multitasking and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Intermediate Bad Actors program to improve samples per batch.
• Conduct root cause investigations for off-spec intermediate batches.
• Review testing for new intermediate codes transferred to manufacturing.
• Provide adjustment support for in-process batches.
• Utilize SPC analysis to observe property drift.
• Be the quality contact for drawdown test method improvement and development.
• Participate in QC Safety directives and oversee high priority batches.
• COA processing and modification; support batch investigations.
• Implement preventative measures for future batches and support CAIR investigations.
