Korn Ferry is assisting with the search for an Interim Controller/CFO (8-12+ month) for a construction/services client. The role is 100% on-site, Monday-Friday, with weekly travel to Louisville, KY.

Seeking extensive construction industry and POC/WIP accounting experience, plus strong leadership to guide month-end close and project accounting. GAAP compliance and internal controls are key focus areas.

Qualifications

• Extensive and recent construction industry experience.
• Strong POC/WIP accounting expertise.
• Project/job accounting and month-end close experience.
• Experience improving accounting processes and internal controls.
• Comfortable working through legacy/manual systems and processes.
• Hands-on Controller/CFO-level leadership experience.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close and ensure timely financial reporting.
• Oversee Percentage of Completion (POC), WIP, job costing and project accounting.
• Review project financial performance and ensure operational/job reporting ties to financial results.
• Strengthen accounting processes, reporting and internal controls.
• Support audit requirements and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Partner with operational leadership on project performance and margins.
