Shriners Children's Ohio is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator to join the inpatient unit on a PRN basis. This role focuses on managing the patient communication center, processing admissions, discharges, and registrations, and supporting nursing staff to ensure accurate records and smooth patient flow.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED and BLS certification; HUC certification and prior healthcare experience are preferred. On-site coverage for 12-hour shifts as needed.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Health Unit Coordinator certification is preferred.
• Experience in a healthcare setting and knowledge of medical terminology are preferred.
• Previous HUC experience is beneficial.

Responsabilidades

• Manage the inpatient nursing unit communication center with courteous, effective, and timely communication.
• Process admissions, discharges, transfers, patient registrations, and insurance information.
• Ensure records are complete and accurate for patient billing and audits.
• Notify staff during emergencies, admissions, and discharges.
• Provide assistance to nursing staff as needed.
