Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting is seeking an Industrial Machinery Technical Writer to create operating manuals, equipment documentation, and illustrated instructions for custom industrial machinery. You will work with mechanical and electrical engineers, machine builders, and production teams to translate complex systems into clear, user-friendly documentation for customers and service technicians.

This on-site, full-time role is based near Woodstock, GA, with no relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• Experience creating technical manuals, equipment documentation, or maintenance guides.
• Strong mechanical understanding of industrial machinery or electromechanical systems.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, engineering diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and technical publication software.
• Clear, accurate technical communication and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and stay organized.

Responsibilities

• Develop installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting manuals for industrial machinery.
• Collaborate with engineers and machine builders to document equipment functions and procedures.
• Create illustrated instructions using photographs, drawings, and diagrams.
• Translate mechanical and electrical systems into clear documentation.
• Review equipment actuals and verify documentation accuracy.
• Maintain revisions and incorporate engineering changes into manuals.
