Job summary

PacifiCorp is seeking an Engineer II/Senior Engineer to join the North Umpqua hydro team at the Toketee Control Center in Idleyld Park, Oregon. The role focuses on developing studies, plans, specifications, and design documents for hydroelectric generation and related facilities, while coordinating with maintenance personnel and outside contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college/university.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally and present alternatives.
• Experience with industrial power systems or electric utility power systems.
• Ability to manage projects and lead teams, meeting timelines and budgets.
• Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and practices.
• Capacity to perform well under pressure and provide timely assessments.

Responsibilities

• Recommend solutions to emergent technical problems to be implemented by maintenance personnel.
• Develop studies and prepare data for cost estimations and analyses.
• Conduct or oversee site inspections to ensure adherence to engineering standards.
• Design, develop, modify, and evaluate systems to support company objectives.
• Develop complex engineering studies, plans, specifications, calculations, evaluations, and design documents.
• Guide and direct associate engineers, technicians and drafters.
