Job summary

PacifiCorp is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the unit overhaul and plant teams, focusing on hydroelectric generation projects and related facilities. You will develop studies, designs, and performance assessments, while guiding junior engineers and coordinating with contractors.

The ideal candidate brings a PE and 2+ years in power systems, excellent communication, and strong project-management skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and strong communication skills.
2+ years of experience in industrial power systems or electric utility engineering.
Ability to work cross-functionally with diverse teams and present recommendations.
Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and codes.
Project management and leadership abilities to manage timelines and budgets.
Ability to perform well under pressure with limited information.

Responsibilities

Develop studies, plans, specifications, calculations, evaluations, and design documents for hydroelectric and related facilities.
Conduct site inspections to ensure adherence to engineering standards.
Design and evaluate systems to meet company objectives using engineering methods.
Lead and mentor associate engineers, technicians, and drafters.
Manage external engineering services and contractors within budgets and milestones.
Maintain schedules and budgets, tracking progress against plans.
Provide timely assessments and recommend alternative solutions to management.
