Job summary

TMS International, a leader in on-site steel mill services, is seeking a Hydraulic Crane Operator to safely operate hydraulic cranes at our facility and support cold-work operations. The role requires strong crane experience, adherence to safety standards, and coordination with ground crews to ensure efficient, safe lifting operations.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ crane experience, the ability to read technical documents, and a commitment to teamwork and reliability.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hydraulic crane operation in an industrial setting.
• Strong understanding of safety standards and load calculations.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate hydraulic cranes to lift and transport materials and equipment as needed.
• Perform pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance on crane equipment.
• Read and interpret load charts and operational manuals to ensure safe lifting practices.
• Communicate effectively with ground crews to coordinate movements and ensure safety.
• Maintain accurate logs of crane operations, including load weights and lift times.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
• Assist with training and mentoring new operators as required.
