Job summary

EquipmentShare is seeking a field service technician to diagnose and repair rental and customer-owned heavy equipment, including diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems. The role requires independent problem-solving and frequent travel to customer sites.

You will use laptops/tablets to manage work orders, pull machine data, and track service intervals, while keeping detailed records and coaching junior technicians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; trade school certification preferred.
• Experience in field service, maintenance, and repair preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record; must be at least 21 to operate a company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair rental and customer-owned heavy equipment — diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems — with independent problem-solving.
• Comfortably use laptops/tablets to create, assign, and monitor work orders, pull machine data, and track service intervals.
• Order parts and coordinate pick-up/delivery of equipment and components as needed.
• Keep accurate daily electronic records of work performed.
• Coach and support less-experienced technicians when needed.
• Travel to customer sites for field service; maintain a clean, professional service vehicle.
• Apply safe work practices; OSHA knowledge preferred.
