Job summary

SABG, supporting the 50th Civil Engineer Squadron at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, seeks a GIS Analyst to manage geospatial data, maps, and tools for base planning and engineering. This on-site role emphasizes quality control, data maintenance, and technical support to users.

Ideal candidates hold an associate degree or equivalent experience, with knowledge of SDS/FGDC standards and proficiency in GIS software and MS Office. On-site work at Schriever AFB is required.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in science or at least 2 years of experience in a technical field.
• Extensive knowledge of geospatial concepts, theories, principles, and practices.
• Knowledge of geospatial data production, management, archival, and maintenance per SDS/FGDC standards.
• Skill in planning and implementing mapping systems for use by installation organizations.
• Ability to review and teach new state‑of‑the‑art engineering and geospatial procedures.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and support geospatial databases, applications, and tools for base management.
• Create and revise maps, charts, and cartographic products from source materials.
• Display and analyze geographic data to support decisions on geology, ecology, land use, and transportation.
• Update GIS data such as maps and real property weekly.
• Produce custom maps and cartographic products to support mission requirements weekly.
• Digitize, edit, and review geospatial data for enterprise GIS weekly.
• Perform quality control on geospatial data weekly to meet standards.
