Job summary

Caltech is seeking a motivated General Computing Intern for LIGO Laboratory, located in Livingston, Louisiana. This role offers students the chance to gain hands-on experience in a cutting-edge scientific environment, providing technical support and collaboration with senior staff.

Qualifications

• Enrollment as a student in Computer Science or a related field.
• At least two years of relevant coursework in Computer Science.
• Ability to work up to 15 hours/week and additional hours during summer.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and assistance to LIGO staff.
• Assist with software installation and configuration.
• Perform diagnosis of hardware issues on user’s computers.
• Assist with backups and operating system updates.
