Job summary

UniGroup is seeking a Fleet Operations Planner to optimize shipment routing and fleet utilization across its transportation network. You will collaborate with agents, van operators, vendors, and internal teams to ensure on-time pickups and high-quality service execution.

The role involves balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced logistics environment, monitoring workflow systems, and making independent financial decisions within established guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 2–3 years of related work experience.
• Experience with routing, load planning, or capacity management.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Able to balance multiple variables in complex scenarios.
• Solid math skills including cubic footage and space planning.
• Working knowledge of Excel formulas.
• Comfort with legacy systems and openness to changes.

Responsibilities

• Plan, approve, and route shipments to optimize fleet capacity and service performance.
• Monitor workflow systems and determine actions for orders, including releases and adjustments.
• Collaborate with agents, van operators, contract truckmen, and internal partners on route and order assignments.
• Support express shipments and develop solutions for non-standard or complex orders.
• Maximize line haul revenue and monitor capacity (empty trucks, inbound equipment).
• Communicate changes and requirements clearly with agent network.
• Maintain timely communication with peers, dispatchers, operators, vendors, and customers.
• Ensure compliance with UniGroup policies and DOT/FMCSA requirements.
• Review reports, complete documentation, and support accurate service execution.
• Make independent day-to-day financial decisions within guidelines.
• Assist in resolving complex operational issues during load and delivery.
