Job summary

The Hiller Companies, LLC in Denver, CO, is seeking an On-Site Fire Protection Technician to install, inspect, test, maintain and repair fire suppression systems on large mining equipment in accordance with NFPA standards.

Based out of the Denver area, this role requires travel to mining locations across CO. Day trips are typical with little overnight travel, and you will document findings, coordinate with clients, and ensure systems meet safety regulations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Install and service fire suppression systems on mining equipment (haul trucks, drills, loaders, shovels) and buildings.
• Conduct routine inspections and testing of system components.
• Prepare reports documenting inspection findings, test results and deficiencies.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform repairs to wiring, devices, and software.
• Respond to service calls and emergencies, diagnosing and restoring function.
• Perform preventive maintenance such as cleaning, calibration, and battery replacement.
• Document all service activities and communicate with clients on findings and improvements.
• Maintain safe, organized work environment following all safety protocols.

Job Summary

An On-Site Fire Protection Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire suppression systems on large mining equipment in accordance with industry standards and regulations.

Work Location

This position is based out of the Denver, CO area and will include travel to other mining locations in CO, largely day trips with little if any overnight travel.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and service fire suppression systems on large mining equipment such as haul trucks, drills, loaders, shovels, as well as fixed fire systems in buildings, conveyors, etc.
• Conduct routine inspections and testing of system components to verify proper operation.
• Prepare detailed reports documenting inspection findings, test results, and any related deficiencies or non-compliance issues observed, in accordance with NFPA codes and standards.
• Troubleshoot system malfunctions and perform repairs as needed, identifying, and resolving issues with wiring, circuitry, devices, and software.
• Respond promptly to service calls and emergency requests, diagnosing problems and implementing solutions to restore system functionality.
• Conduct preventive maintenance activities, such as cleaning, calibration, and battery replacement, to prolong the lifespan of systems and prevent downtime.
• Document all service activities accurately and thoroughly, including inspection reports, work orders, and parts usage, and customer notes.
• Interact professionally with clients to schedule work, discuss inspection findings, address any concerns or questions, and provide recommendations for system upgrades or improvements
