Job summary

Black Box is seeking a field technician to manage daily service operations, installation, and deployment of networking and low-voltage systems across client sites in the Northeast. You will coordinate with project managers and other teams to deliver timely, high-quality service.

You will install, test, and maintain cabling, switches, routers, and Wi‑Fi equipment, ensuring SLAs are met while communicating clearly with customers and internal teams. Valid driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
• Must be proficient with basic cabling tools and troubleshooting.
• Strong customer-service orientation and communication skills.
• Ability to explain technical issues in plain language to customers.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day field service operations for installations and deployments.
• Maintain a customer-service oriented environment with issue documentation and follow-up.
• Perform installation and servicing of low voltage cabling and networking equipment.
• Configure and test network assets (switches, routers, Wi‑Fi gear) in data centers and closets.
• Complete MAC requests within service levels and coordinate with project teams.
• Support onsite testing, maintenance, and incident response for client networks.
