Job summary

VOALA is seeking a Maintenance Assistant I to oversee minor repairs and routine building and grounds maintenance at an assigned complex. The role requires independent work and flexible hours, reporting to a Maintenance Supervisor, with on-site duties and daily safety compliance.

Qualified candidates will have at least 1 year in facilities maintenance or construction, a High School Diploma or GED, and a CA driver’s license. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; fingerprint clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Must pass fingerprint clearance and background check
• Ability to work under emotional stress and with potentially aggressive clients
• High school diploma or GED and valid CA driver's license required

Responsibilities

• Maintain interior and exterior of buildings, parking lots and grounds
• Perform minor repairs (carpentry, plumbing, painting, refurbishing, landscaping)
• Follow maintenance checklist; keep tools and stock in order
• Ensure safety compliance with VOALA and regulations
• Drive company vehicle for pickup and delivery of supplies
