Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is seeking an Assistant Engineering Manager in Kirkland, WA to supervise Leads/Operating Engineers and manage critical electrical and life-safety systems across multiple sites. Qualifications

• Proven experience in building engineering management with focus on electrical systems.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, life safety, and fire alarm systems.
• Solid understanding of NFPA-70E and Arc Flash PPE requirements.
• Experience with NFPA-70E and OSHA-10 safety training is preferred.
• Ability to develop SOPs, MOPs, and technical documentation.
• Experience managing reactive maintenance within SLA-driven environments.
• Strong vendor coordination and documentation skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot operational and emergency issues quickly.
• Proven ability to train and supervise technical teams.
• Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Engineering Manager with supervision, coordination, and training of Leads/Operating Engineers.
• Develop Panel Allocation SOPs to forecast panel availability for client designs.
• Implement true panel load data logging for accurate forecasting.
• Develop EPM programs for each site and verify MOPs for scheduling.
• Review Electrical MOPs and approve JHAs.
• Ensure reactive work orders stay within SLA and reduce aging.
• Provide technical support and training for Leads/Operating Engineers.
• Coordinate vendor activities and ensure quality of work.
• Obtain quotations and order parts to maintain site operation.
• Conduct site-specific training and regular site inspections/audits.
• Maintain up-to-date tool inventories and system documentation.
• Write procedures for installed electrical systems and perform switching.
• Issue/Close/Inspect permits (LOTO, MOPs, risk assessments) for vendors.
• Maintain Life Safety System logs and critical spares inventories.
• Update EHS records and address safety hazards for staff and occupants.
• Maintain building drawings, single-lines, and regulatory records.
• Oversee contractor activities and maintain engineering logs/data sheets.
• Serve as SME on electrical, life safety, and fire alarm systems (NFPA-70E).
• Prioritize PMs, corrective, and emergent work orders for the site.
• Maintain safe working environment and address EHS issues.
• Ensure adequate inventory of tools and supplies.
