Job summary

REISER in Canton, MA is seeking an experienced Buyer to support our Purchasing department. The role focuses on sourcing engineered goods, maintaining material flow for development and manufacturing, and keeping inventory and cost targets on track.

You will collaborate with engineering, manage ERP/MRP, negotiate with suppliers, and coordinate purchase orders and delivery schedules. Strong communication and negotiation skills, plus experience with steel fabrication and machined parts, are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred.
• 5+ years in manufacturing sourcing for machined or fabricated parts.
• Experience with steel fabrication, mechanical assemblies and fasteners.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand engineering docs.
• Strong negotiation, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in procurement software; CAD knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering to understand needs for goods and services.
• Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate stock of materials.
• Handle ERP, MRP, Buyers Queue to evaluate purchasing requirements.
• Negotiate pricing with suppliers for cost-effectiveness and on-time delivery.
• Manage purchase orders and delivery schedules.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve procurement issues.
• Identify and communicate critical supply issues to leadership.
• Assist cost evaluations and supplier bids when needed.
