Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an On-Site Electrical Engineer for a Baton Rouge, LA project. You will act as the field representative, supporting installation and delivery of electrical infrastructure and coordinating with project stakeholders.

The role requires 4+ years in electrical design, construction, operations, or commissioning (or 2+ years on hyperscale data center projects), proficiency with substations, switchgear, UPS and MV/LV distribution, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 4+ years of experience in electrical design, construction, operations, or commissioning; or 2+ years supporting hyperscale data center projects.
• Experience with substations, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, MV/LV distribution, protective relaying, and mission-critical electrical systems.
• Familiarity with applicable electrical codes, standards, and testing requirements.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Ability to safely work on active construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-site representative for electrical systems.
• Support construction activities involving MV/LV distribution and related systems.
• Conduct daily field observations to assess quality, safety, and progress.
• Coordinate design issues and field modifications with engineering teams.
• Prepare weekly site observation reports and technical recommendations.
• Participate in project meetings and maintain stakeholder communication.
