Job summary

Chromalloy is seeking an EHS Specialist for our Orangeburg NY facility to strengthen our safety culture and compliance program. The role is on-site, with standard hours Monday–Friday and responsiveness for second and weekend shifts as needed.

You will lead site EHS programs, train staff, support regulatory inspections, and collaborate across departments to embed safety into everyday work, driving continuous improvement and incident prevention.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field.
• 3+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing and repair operations.
• Desire to grow EHS subject matter expertise and work towards certification (CSP, CIH, CHMM, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS laws and company standards.
• Lead site environmental, health and safety programs (ergonomics, lockout/tagout, machine guarding, fall protection, PPE, hazardous waste, chemical management).
• Collaborate with employees and departments to integrate EHS into work processes and facility changes.
• Work with supervisors and managers to complete job/risk assessments and develop risk mitigation solutions.
• Ensure safety during planning, design, and construction of facilities or modifications.
• Support EHS training programs and regulatory inspections.
• Assist with emergency response preparation including training and drills.
• Conduct regular EHS assessments and inspections and communicate findings to teams.
• Execute reporting, investigation, and communication of accidents, hazards, and concerns.
• Oversee corrective and preventive actions and drive closure.
• Communicate progress and trends to site leadership and support corporate EHS initiatives.
• Complete all required training to execute the role.
