Job summary

Inabia Software & Consulting Inc. is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist for our Alexandria, VA facility.

The role focuses on implementing and continuously improving EHS programs in a high-volume food manufacturing environment, with collaboration across Production, Sanitation, Maintenance, QA, HR, and Site Leadership. The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of EHS experience, a relevant bachelor's degree, and strong OSHA/EPA/regulatory knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Food Science, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of EHS experience, preferably within food manufacturing or related environments.
• Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable state and local regulations.
• Experience with safety inspections, audits, incident investigations, root-cause analysis, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, analytical, and documentation skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, maintain, and improve EHS policies, procedures, programs, and training materials.
• Conduct safety inspections/audits and risk assessments.
• Lead or support incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Maintain OSHA injury/illness records and regulatory documentation.
• Collaborate with Production, Sanitation, Maintenance, QA, HR, and Site Leadership to identify and resolve safety concerns.
• Deliver safety training and coach on hazard recognition and safe work practices.
