Job summary

Ferguson Construction Company is seeking a Project Architect to join our internal, interdisciplinary design team. This on-site role is based in one of four regional offices—Sidney, Columbus, Dayton, or Indianapolis—and offers a path to lead the design-build process across multiple sectors.

You will work with cross-disciplinary staff to develop designs from concept through construction documents, mentor students, and collaborate with clients to deliver unique, functional spaces.

Qualifications

• Must hold a professional degree in architecture.
• Must be a registered architect with ability to register in Ohio and Indiana.
• 5+ years of experience; 10+ years preferred.
• Proficient in Revit with knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Customer-focused with quality and deadline discipline.

Responsibilities

• Function as part of a design team to manage large and small projects from conceptual design through final design and detailing.
• Develop conceptual designs for new builds, additions, and renovations with cost and constructability considerations.
• Detail and assemble construction documents in Revit and coordinate with design staff.
• Help develop drawing standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to review design drawings.
• Submit permits and respond to plan corrections.
• Mentor co-ops and junior designers to grow skills for full-time roles.
• Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
