Job summary

Metric5 is hiring a Data Engineer to design and maintain secure data infrastructure across client domains in Springfield, VA. You will build CDC pipelines using Debezium, stream with Apache Kafka, and optimize Flink jobs for real-time processing.

You will also configure Vector pipelines, manage OpenSearch ingest and indexing, and collaborate with NestJS developers to ensure data contracts and query patterns are efficient. Lightweight on-site schedule with occasional after-hours work.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building scalable, real-time data streaming architectures with CDC.
• Proficient in Kafka, Flink, and OpenSearch stack and integration patterns.
• Experience deploying in Kubernetes/OpenShift and using GitOps tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain CDC pipelines from MySQL via Debezium to Kafka.
• Develop Flink apps for multi-table joins and denormalized outputs to Kafka.
• Configure Vector to sink processed data into OpenSearch and manage indexing.
