Job summary

Span Construction & Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Safety Manager to lead company-wide and project-specific safety programs. The role enforces safety standards and trains employees to develop safe work plans, with a focus on preventing incidents.

The position requires strong leadership, 5+ years of construction safety experience, BCSP credentials or CHST/OSHA 500 readiness, and willingness to travel to multiple project locations. On-site duty for the lifecycle of the build is expected.

Qualifications

• Must hold BCSP credentials, with STS‑C or CHST preferred; must be willing and able to obtain OSHA 500 and First Aid Certified within the first month; must be willing to study and work towards CHST.
• Experience: minimum of 5 years of construction safety experience; oversee large commercial/industrial projects.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and safety compliance systems (e.g., Hammertech); Smartsheet experience is a plus.
• Travel to multiple project locations; able to be insured on Company’s policy as a driver.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes safety and promotes a culture where safety is the primary focus for all employees.
• Enforces federal, state, and local safety laws and regulations.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions.
• Develops and implements site-specific emergency plans and ERP.
• Reviews training and updates safety programs across the company.
• Participates in the Company’s safety committee and client relations.
