Job summary

Melwood in Annapolis, MD seeks a Custodial Supervisor to lead a custodial crew and ensure contract specifications are met to the highest standards. Core hours are 7:00 am–4:00 pm, Monday–Friday with some weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Two years of custodial work experience are required.
• One year of supervisory experience is required.
• Experience with developmentally disabled individuals is preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Must be able to work flexible hours including some weekends and holidays.
• Must pass security clearance and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Plans the daily work activities for the custodial crew.
• Supervises the crew to ensure the assigned work is satisfactory.
• Inspects areas to ensure scheduled work is completed.
• Instructs crew on cleaning techniques, procedures and equipment use.
• Readjusts assignments to complete urgent or missing tasks.
• Maintains equipment and supplies inventory and issues items to crew.
• Maintains attendance records and processes time sheets.
• Schedules vacations for crew members.
• Maintains laundry records where uniforms are worn.
• Resolves crew problems or refers issues to supervisor.
• Maintains contact with guardians of differently-abled workers about schedule.
• Attends weekly custodial meetings and stays updated on equipment and methods.
• Conducts time trials to determine productivity.
• Facilitates safety training daily.
• Follows up on Quality Control results and takes corrective actions.
• Conducts other administrative duties as required.
