Job summary

Quincy College seeks an Adjunct Instructor to teach Computer Science at the Quincy Campus on-site. Courses include C++, Data Structures, Algorithms, and Android Development, among others.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in CS or a related field, with college teaching experience. Ph.D. preferred; experience with online or hybrid formats is desirable, along with Canvas/Quality Matters/TSR certification.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in CS or related field required; Ph.D. preferred.
• Teaching experience at the college level required; community college preferred.
• Experience with online, hybrid, remote or blended teaching.
• Experience using multiple measures to assess student learning.
• Successful completion of Quincy College’s Canvas, Quality Matters, TSR certification or equivalent.
• Commitment to diversity and working with a diverse student population.

Responsibilities

• Teach computer science courses on-site at Quincy Campus.
• Prepare syllabi conforming to Quincy College requirements and assessment methods.
• Attend classes as scheduled and participate in faculty meetings.
• Maintain classroom environment that promotes discussion and respects students.
• Adhere to Faculty Handbook policies including attendance and exams.
• Prepare in advance for each class and communicate syllabus changes as needed.
• Submit required paperwork (contracts, syllabi, lists, grades) timely.
• Participate in mandatory training such as Title IX, FERPA, security policies.
