Neal R. Gross and Co. is seeking experienced Court Reporters to work on contract basis at client sites across the Washington DC area and nationwide. You will use specialized equipment to produce accurate records of proceedings in courts, meetings, depositions, and hearings.

Responsibilities include setting up gear, taking down verbatim records, administering oaths, and preparing ahead for assignments. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently are essential.

Qualifikationen

• Prior experience and equipment required; no training provided.
• 1+ years working as a Court Reporter.
• Pass security screening for access to client sites, including government buildings.
• Proficient with technology and digital capture tools.

Aufgaben

• Takes down the proceeding using Machine Shorthand, Voice, or Digital capture.
• Capture verbatim proceedings of courts, meetings, depositions, and hearings.
• Administer oaths and participate in depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings.
• Transport, set up, and operate equipment to capture the record accurately.
• Perform advance preparation for assignments, including building job worksheets.
• Ensure exhibits are secured, backups are made, and worksheets uploaded.
