Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Controller for a heavy civil construction organization in Kent, WA. This in-office role leads accounting operations, budgeting, and controls, partnering with executives to drive financial strategy.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in construction accounting, CPA preferred, and a track record in job costing, WIP, and contract accounting. Salary ranges from $150,000 to $180,000 with strong benefits and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• CPA designation preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant construction accounting.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting leadership or management experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and construction accounting principles.
• Experience with job costing, WIP reporting, percentage-of-completion accounting, and construction contracts.
• Cash flow management, budgeting and forecasting, and related skills.
• Experience with accounting software in a construction environment.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, cash management, internal controls, and compliance.
• Partner with executive leadership to provide financial insight for strategic decisions.
• Supervise accounting personnel and oversee functions related to heavy civil construction.
• Oversee job costing, WIP reporting, payroll, and contract accounting.
• Ensure integrity of the company’s financial records.
