Job summary

Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN) seeks a General Superintendent to represent LAN on a K-12 education project in Houston.

You will monitor multiple construction activities, coordinate with project teams, and ensure on-site performance aligns with plans and schedules. The role requires strong field leadership, experience in building trades, and ability to prepare daily reports, manage punch lists, and communicate with owners and contractors.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of construction practices, techniques, materials and equipment relating to school construction.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications and blueprints and compare with ongoing work.
• Ability to detect errors in construction projects and maintain accurate records.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with contractors, owners and team members.
• Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; preference for MS Project experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the activities of multiple construction projects.
• Identify on-site workforce status and resource shortages.
• Coordinate construction activities between Owner's vendors, Contractor, and team members; escalate unresolved issues.
• Prepare daily site observation and non-conforming work reports.
• Participate in pre-construction and progress meetings.
• Assist with punch-list preparation and verification.
• Review third-party testing reports and follow up on deficiencies.
• Ensure submittals and shop drawings are current with project documents.
