Job summary

Wight & Company invites a summer Construction Management intern to join our Chicagoland team. You will shadow superintendents, assist project managers with estimates and schedules, and participate in team and client meetings to represent the firm.

This internship emphasizes hands-on learning, collaboration with architects and engineers, and opportunities to network across departments while gaining exposure to construction materials and methods.

Qualifications

• Current student pursuing a Bachelor's/Master's degree in Construction Management or related field.
• Strong communication skills.
• Reliable transportation to travel to and from assigned job site(s) in the Chicagoland area.
• Basic understanding of construction materials and methods.
• Good organization and computer skills.
• Openness to learn and have fun.

Responsibilities

• Shadow superintendents and document on-site progress
• Work with Project Managers in preparing project estimates, schedules, contracts and other project-specific managerial tasks
• Attend team and client meetings in-house and on-site for construction projects, representing Wight & Company
• Develop and maintain strong client relations
