Job summary

COLSA seeks a Computer Test Operator in San Diego, CA to test and troubleshoot computer and communications systems, write test procedures and reports, and assist with related tasks. The role involves occasional domestic travel (1–2 weeks/year) and occasional 2nd/3rd shift testing, with an alternate work schedule of nine-hour days, an eight-hour Friday, and every other Friday off.

On-site work arrangement is 100%.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years in systems, software, and hardware testing.
• US Citizenship and ability to qualify for SECRET clearance.
• General knowledge of computers, networking, or communication systems.
• Willingness to travel domestically 1–2 weeks per year.
• Ability to work in a team and communicate clearly.
• Proficient with Windows and desktop applications.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine software and hardware testing of computer systems using provided test tools.
• Performs routine maintenance and upgrades as required.
• Follows established test procedures and scripts to validate performance.
• Reports testing failures, faults, or inconsistencies as instructed.
• Records test results, updates documentation, and assists in preparing technical reports.
• Completes all required documentation, pre and post-test write-ups, and correspondence with test leadership.
• Performs basic troubleshooting of software and hardware issues.
• Assists senior technicians with more complicated test scenarios and special projects.
• Complies with all operational, security, and safety guidelines and procedures.
