Job summary

Preferred Construction Partners is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to lead a short-term North Georgia project. The role requires coordinating trades, reading plans, maintaining schedules, and ensuring safety and quality on site.

This contract position runs ~3–4 months with potential for more work for the right person. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in commercial construction, proven field leadership, strong communication, and the ability to drive the job forward

Qualifications

• Read and understand architectural, structural, MEP, and civil drawings.
• Coordinate multiple subcontractors and trades in the field.
• Maintain and update short-term look-ahead schedules and project timeline.
• Understand construction sequencing and scheduling.
• Identify and solve field problems to avoid delays or change orders.
• Communicate clearly with the Project Manager and crews.
• Work independently with minimal direction on a short-term project.
• Be willing and able to travel to the site daily.
• Demonstrate field leadership on commercial jobsites.
• Coordinate material deliveries and site logistics.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the day-to-day operation of the jobsite.
• Coordinate and manage subcontractors and suppliers in the field.
• Maintain the project schedule and keep the work moving.
• Develop and maintain short-term look-ahead schedules.
• Conduct regular jobsite walks and identify potential problems before delays.
• Review plans, specifications, details, and scopes of work.
• Coordinate sequencing between trades.
• Verify that work is installed correctly per plans and specs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite.
• Coordinate inspections and address inspection issues.
• Communicate progress, issues, manpower, materials, and schedule with the Project Manager.
• Maintain daily reports and jobsite documentation.
• Track material deliveries and ensure availability.
• Coordinate deliveries and site logistics.
• Hold subcontractors accountable for schedule, quality, manpower, and cleanup.
• Identify field conflicts and resolve them with relevant parties.
• Assist with change-order documentation and verification of additional work.
• Manage punch, closeout, and turnover activities.
• Maintain good relationships with subcontractors, inspectors, owners, and project team.
