Job summary

BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina is seeking a part-time Claims Processor I to handle complex and specialty claims on-site in Myrtle Beach, SC. The role requires accurate processing, adherence to coding guidelines, and collaboration with internal teams during training and mentorship of staff.

You will work a 4-hour shift, Monday through Friday, with potential overtime and onsite training for 8–10 weeks. A security clearance is required and government contracting experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2 years of experience processing, researching, and adjudicating claims.
• Strong organizational, analytical and judgment skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in spelling, punctuation and grammar.

Responsibilities

• Examines and processes complex or specialty claims according to regulations and guidelines.
• Enters claims into the system after verifying coding of procedures and diagnosis codes.
• Verifies that claims are keyed correctly and processed per quality standards.
• Resolves claims edits and deferrals with internal teams.
• Performs research on claim problems using policies and reference materials.
